Along part of the Sumallo river in southern BC, stately Douglas fir and Red cedars soar from the understory of vine maples and salmonberries. I took shelter here after being caught out on my motorbike one afternoon ,by a thunderstorm . In the spacious forest Pacific rhododendrons were flowering , adding a splash of colour on this day in late June.
